Yesterday noted all my Bishop not liked the Pope anymore, but more strange as they are at opinion 100 with me they like themselves more (I get a negative number, too I'm losing money?)

Is this possible? They're in some way became heretic?

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Then I have gone on Rome and suddenly noted it was no more white but all purplish: it was Byzantium aka the Roman Empire had conquered Rome (and no event happens for this devastating thing? Very bad! The Pope has no land anymore and no one cares?) , so I've seen the Pope was in Rouen, so I tough Rouen was the new papal state but...

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

What is happening? The s*itty count of Rouen is taking taxes from the Pope?
I suppose they've given that bishorship before the Pope lost Rome so now they've the Pope as vassal in a total peacefully way?

Or they don't take nothing for this?

P.S. I've checked the Duke of Normandy has not the Pope listed as its vassals so he is taking nothing... a lot of his bishop too like more themselves that the Liege or the Pope...

Hmm I suppose this is a bug :eek:hmy:

What do you think?

The pope is not a vassal to anyone. He is independent and has 1 bishipic in the said county. Since he is not a vassal to anyone, the said count has no advantage whatsoever. He is even worse than before, because he lost a bishop vassal to the pope (when the later took the bishipic).

In short, when the pope loses all his land, the game gives him a random catholic bishopic. The bishop who had that bishopic loses the land, and the count who had the bishop as a vassal, loses 1 vassal because the pope takes the land.

It means that the Pope is still independent, and controls a bishopric and not the whole county. I think all BIshops pay the Pope taxes if they like him more than you.

The other ones have it right, that's the flag you get when someone owns a minor holding within a county.

If the pope becomes landless, random countries will {eventually} give him a bishopric. In my games, he seems to like Poland and England.

So not ad advantageous event in any way... he don't get at least some prestige for this? He had given hospitality to the Pope in the end... you could refuse to accept this or are you forced to lose your land?

But in the end continues to be strange to see bishop liking themselves is this supposed to happens? I don't think so... they have 100 relation with me so?

It seems a problem for the Duke of Normandy too so it's not only mine... it should be in some way linked with the fact the Pope has lost Rome and they don't see him as the "real" Pope?

It shouldn't be a special casus belli to retake Rome for the Pope? The Duke of Normandy / King of France has this?

Yeah but that still does not explain the -30 Gold the bishops "pay" with -30 Relations to the pope and 100 to their liege.

EDIT:
The Pope can't be a vassal to anyone anyway - he's an Emperor-level member of the church, as evidenced by the gilded frame around his portrait.

He is King level not Emperor

He's Emperor-level in my CK2+ game, though he may be King-level in vanilla, I suppose. I didn't know that was one of the things that changed... it's been a long time since I've played vanilla :)

Ah, okay

In Vanilla he still can be vassalized with the prince-bishop - antipope way ;)

The legend says "Bishop xxx is loyal to himself" so, I suppose, the game with the negative number would simbolyze the fact he is exempted to pay tax... clever!

EDIT:
He is King level not Emperor

Do you have done this? The Pope vassal pays taxes to you? I suppose should be big piece of gold if all the rest of the Bishop of Europe pays taxes to him...

P.S. Byzantium is very successful in my game: it has taken Rome, all the Balkans, Austria (!) and now in my seeing is its way to take the north Italy. Sadly Scotland won a succession war and now is Scotland + Sweden + Norway... never I could create Empire of Britannia in this situation...
