I'm trying to get my friends a job of importance in the clergy... And hey, luckily he's perfect for the job, so no worries:
But every single time, no matter the "Acceptance Score" (whatever that may be anyway), my requests get refused. See the example above. We have the same culture, Frankish, I've got cardinal's support and the King of France is as pious as possible, being a fanatic member of the Dominican order.
It's frustrating to a point I'm about to install Free Investiture, because that just seems to be the best option anyhow: +10 relations with vassals, +10 relations with clergy and the ability to appoint my own bishops... -30 relations with the Pope? I don't need to Pope anyway if I can appoint my own priests...
