Pop system is worse

Got to disagree, I really like the pop system.

Dunno about DR, but the POP system makes me feel my country is something more than provinces with a headcount (like in EU2) and it adds whole other dimension to the game, since you need to take care of the POPs and try to get them to suit what you're trying to do. In short.

In Vicky, which is basically a study of technological/economic power & its connection with military power, I suspect it is not a design flaw that certain countries are unplayable.

I don't know, it's quite possible to do well with a minor so long as you don't expect to dominate europe:

Sure, DR -- it looks like the Austrians are just waiting for the chance to do you in!!

They can try, but they've already lost about 10 wars to me in that game. Austrian diplomats bringing declarations of war just get asked if they ever get tired of losing and laughed out of my audience chamber
