Pop growth universal constant

I don't understand the complaints about pop growth. In 2.2 the more pops you have, the more powerful you are. In my current game, 2345, I have 1100 pops, of which 130 are in the capital world and I am the most powerful empire apart from FEs. My economy is very strong and still expanding and thriving.

I can't help but agree. I think pop growth needs to be tweaked but not downwards. What is probably upsetting people are large groups of unemployed people, so the game needs a better way to deal with those than manually shuffling pops around.

Taking the Human species as an example is a limited view, but a base growth rate of 3% . . .

Say 50% female
1/3 of them of child bearing age is 16%
A 3% growth rate is all women each having a child on average evey five years through their child bearing years
And with nobody dying of old age . . .
