Hi all

I'm wanting to start a machine empire game in 2.2. I hear they are somewhat weak so I'm looking forward to the challenge.

One question though, what is pop assembly cost? The trait luxurious and the versatility tradition opener both affect this but I can't work out what it does. Under the old version of this game you had to pay for robot pops, but with them being grown now by roboticist in the assembly plants, I can't see what this traits function is.

Can anyone help me out?

The roboticist consumes minerals in order to provide the robot growth. If the cost is increased, it refers to the amount of minerals the roboticist consumes every month.

Wonderful! Thanks for the swift reply.

Gotta say that make the Luxurious trait, at -2 points REALLY powerful. I mean on a large world with 4 roboticists, you are looking at a total difference of 4 minerals. Not much at all.

Also makes the opener of Versatility pretty crap, at a 10% discount, it changes the cost from 5 minerals to 4.5 Even on a large world thats gonna set you back 2 minerals. At most since roboticists are so limited in number.

Taking Assembly Speed traits is that much more powerful because of this. Reducing the build time reduces the cost per Pop, as the roboticist or replicator doesnt have to work as Long per Pop. So Always take build Speed instead of Assembly cost if you can, as its effectivly a "double save".
