Thank you paradox for this delightful patch, as entertaining as it has been to enjoy some brand new content their are quite of bit of problems already.

First lets talk about eygpt, the nile now can be accessed by any one during any moment. war times or not. Eygpt should have the ability to defend its land and allow other countries to navigate its waters. Give the game naval forts please and fix that issue. Just try to balance eygpt in that aspect.

Second... Carthage, this country now make no money and you the dev team gave it even more ship whilst changing there government type..LOL. How are you suppose to compete with rome if you have no advantage over that country. As carthage you cant even sustain nor fuel an army with the naval size you guys gave them. So please look into that issue to make multiplayer viable because at this rate rome just going to stomp on the world after a couple of years. Also you guys have made carthage more unstable, i dont know if it was indirectly or direct but any land you get you might implode.

Thirdly, If you play a country you should be able to self sustain by free trade i know you guys nerf it but ffs, please fix it some countries now suffer and can’t expand as fast.
• Civ points are now scarce due to the fact that inventions cost 100 civ still, then 100 civ points for urban development, 20 civ to move pops, 25 civ for trade routes, promoting pop 10 CIV. You get the idea civ is now being using for a lot of things

TL;DR: Carthage makes no money and cant sustain their military to compete with rome(Carthage should be way richer than rome). Eygpt needs to be in FULL CONTROL OF THE NILE, make it defendable!!!!!. CIV POINTS ARE USED FOR A LOT OF THINGS NOW.(Same issue as Oratory b4 this patch)

Carthage get additional trade routes from its ports so that should help them a bit with trade. Internal trade seems to have gotten a major nerf in income compared to external trade. The defines have external trade at 0.2 while internal is at only 0.05.

I tried to report a bug using the bug report but I wasn't allowed for some reason. Reporting here instead.

The even chain that fires when trying to befriend a character allows for the use of the rulers wealth even though the ruler is allready in debt, resulting in an even greater debt. As the option to bribe characters from the character screen is not allowed due to the lack of funds this has to be a bug or an owersight.

Edit: this is in the 1.1 beta patch.

The ahead in time penalty need a significant nerf as it is impossible to get to Tech 20 Before the game ends. You get the maximum penalty for being 100 years ahead, with the game lasting 280 years you still 120 years short of Tech 20.

Issues I've encountered:

1. Trade is gone from the game. For some reason, nobody sells their trade goods anymore, so you can't import.

2. The civilization effort isn't promoting tribesmen for some reason. Or at least they don't show in the tooltip, that remains 0 through the ages. But no, I dont think they do.

3. Love the new character interactions and the idea of plots and such. The idea of power base is cool. But again, it seems you have to be a massive empire to get a civil war. Otherwise, nobody gets enough power base, and loyalty is still too easy to keep up. I only have tried Rome and havent really expanded outside Italy, but thats the feeling I've got. Rebelions are more common now though, which is nice.

4. I love the changes to population so it doesnt grow so much. But please, fix the movement of pops. Its still a nightmare. Change the system for the love of god. Having to click for minutes each pop to move them is just frustrating.

PS: I love how much the AI has improved. Now its more agressive, and builds ships. Finally I had a real punic war.

Keep it up. Very much looking forward to getting rid of mana in the next update and further changes.

PS2: I absolutely love the chain events for co-rulers playing as Rome. It gives you a very CK2 feel that I love. All events should be like these. Please, add more like those. But not only between ruler and co ruler, but with other government offices ;)

The new population capacity system is nice, but there's a few quirks with it. Some cities that clearly have a river running through/past them are not getting the Nearby River modifier to pop capacity, like #2483, #1184 and #720. (This also goes for a LOT of cities along the Danube, almost the entirety of Hercuniatia province is without the modifier even though its situated between the Danube and Tisza)

Otherwise this patch is great! Few bugs to iron out but thats what beta is for.

Trade used to have a higher base value (around 0.5), though. Trade is now far inferior to tax.

I have a few questions about this patch. So far I see a few big issues unless these issues are supposed to be there. 1st the build unit button does not work for the provinces. is this by design for the beta or is it just me? Second under the government screen there is not Governors at all there is a bar that's says word. also there is no mercenaries listed under the mercenaries screen why? again are these design that way for the beta??

@Trin Tragula
I don’t think Planning Assassination of a character should give you 20AE. Instead what it takes from you should be dependent on the result. If you succeed and don’t get found out, nothing. If you Fail but don’t get found out a minor Stability hit. If you succeed and do get found out, a medium Stability Hit, and if you fail and do get found out, a sizeable Stability hit.

@btbrown
I have had no issues with the build unit button. Don’t know about the others

The Commerce settings in the economy tab feels quite uninspired, the left and right buttons are just mirror images of each other with respective bonus and penalty and the only goal between these two is to maximize income and there is no planing or cost to change between these two which mean you simply press once on each and see which one give most Money and stick with that Before the next check.

Compare this to how tax settings work, low give less tax but reduce unrest while high tax increase slave output while reducing research. There is no need for mirror images and even less so when the best choice between them is Always obvious.
