Hello, I wonder if the barony can have other laws than the county it lies within? Basically what I wonder is if there will be any county-barony conflicts, for example, you as a count hate the gready and corrput baron who happens to be your father-in-law. If assasination is to risky and reconciliation is out of the question should it be possible to send your spymaster to the barony to try to persuade the land owning knights of the barony to revolt against their baron.

Another thing I wonder is if baronies with whom you have bad relations with should function as independent realms, that is giving you no tax income and destabilize your whole county. Maybe such a baron could rise up in revolt against you or aid an invading enemy force in the siege of your county. On the other hand loyal barons should aid you instead and always give you the full tax income.

And maybe some events could be made that deal with the barony. For example your baron wants you to mobilize your troops to crush a serf rebellion. If you accept the rebellion is crushed, if you decline the baron dies and the barony is looted. Or that the baron demands money from you to combat an ongoing plauge.

Just my two cents.

I think there should be plenty of barony events and other features. Your direct vassals should be your main concern (besides your family), so there should be plenty of conflicts as well as chances for good things. It might be wise to just wait out your father-in-law. Take him hunting, make him your marshal and send him on border raids, anything else to lessen his life expectancy :D

Barons I think will be able to rebel, and your relationship will be pretty close to what you say. You don't have to like each other, and you're kind of stuck with who happens to hold titles in your realm. You have to help in case of rebellions, and I think that his loyalty should come into play during times of crisis, especially war. He will send you fewer troops if he does not like you, and maybe even show the enemy the secret way into the castle.

I think loyal vassals would enforce their liege's laws, but I can envision disloyal vassals to change their laws. Thus forcing their liege to either bring them back into line and risking conflict with the disloyal vassal's allies or loose respect/prestige for not doing so.
