I'm playing 1.5.1 as Germany with no mods.(Not Waking the Tiger)
I noticed that there seemed to be errors in how my Political power is calculated since it dropped suddenly down to +.6 per day.
Slovakia is a puppet & Austria part of Germany. Iirc both are supposed to lower Germany's MEFO costs by .05. There was no evidence this was occurring (anymore?) so I went back to the save where Slovakia was made a puppet (end of Czech) & ran through it again.Germany's MEFO cost went down to -.75 from -.8 as it should.I let the game run for a bit & the decrease stayed. However, when I loaded my next save from a month game time later, the decrease was gone & Germany's MEFO cost was back to -.8.
Now,to add to that,I noticed I was also losing a full -1 because of "trade interdiction".At first I thought this may be some unmentioned diplomatic penalty. So I checked old saves again & it seems it may actually have something to do with research.I'm researching the techs in "trade interdiction".An earlier save or 2 showed a -1 for "u boat effort".Previous to these there was no penalty for,or mention of,this even though I was still researching the same tech tree.
Both these problems appear to begin with the "End of Czech" national focus completion or the selection I made.
Another calculation that changes for no apparent reason is the training levels of some armies decreasing when I use the "train" button.(not from combat) The first time I noticed it was with an army in Ostpreussen.I had exercised them up to "regular" then when I later reloaded the game I found they were back to "trained".I tried exercising them again & the same thing occurred after reloading the save. This wasn't a "biggie" because I noticed they kept only going back to 93% trained (both times) I had thought that this may have something to do with them not having a continuous land link to "main" Germany but this later occurred with another army on the French border.Same thing but this one reverts to 92% trained. This did not occur with others though.
I didn't see anyone else mentioning these particular problems but with the slow build up of political power, the war will likely be over before I can fully select my command staff. It's only 1939 & the war hasn't even begun yet.
