Just copying my reply on the discord:
"Hey, thanks for the feedback! We agree with your suggestion in large parts and could definitely see an expansion of the political movement system in the future. When exactly that might be the case is uncertain as always and depends also a bit on the things around it that we're introducing or changing, but it's on our radar as a potential area of improvement."
On the concern of it becoming a frustrating experience:
"Yeah, it's an interesting balancing act for sure.
We would want and need to highlight very specific instances of this behaviour, ideally in advance so the player can actively steer their behaviour to either lean into it or move away from it.
As an example I'm thinking of a Revanchism movement to declare war on your neighbour after they've taken territory from you in the past war. The growing support for such a movement should be made visible long before it actually starts. Increasing SoL, certain laws, fostering relations with that neighbour, suppressing certain IGs etc. could then ideally all be possible angles to avoid a political movement from even getting off the ground. We'll need to see if that's actually something we could pull off or not."
So in short: on our radar, but would need serious design work before we would introduce it.
