Hello.

I Veteran Paradox games in EU4 i have all DLC , thsi same Stellaris . Stellaris have Polish version EU4 not , i see Imperator Rome too :(. Why Poland scene for Paradox games big market pople who love starategic games . I

As a client from a fairly large gaming market. I feel unimportant. I bought CK II, then as it turned out that the supplements do not have the Polish version, the game went off-set and I have similar intuitions to IR. Why Paradox does not issue flagship products in the PL version. These niche can encourage and the main ones do not work that way. In E4 I was tired for a long time to understand the mechanics presented in English. Do not do it with Imperator Rome.

This only shows the lack of respect for players even of their own country. This is not a garage company but a tycoon. Follow the easy path. Already dozens of DLC policies are controversial because they cost more than the basic game on the day of the premiere. This attitude is weak and that's it. I run a small business, I care for each client in the same way.

I am Polish and couldn't care less about a Polish version. Nowadays almost everyone know english and there is no point of making separate language versions just for small minority of lazybones who don't even bother to learn basics of the international language.

Of course when game offers your national language it's an nice addition but it should be treated like a bonus not something you should demand.

Ps. But I support demand for Imperator to be also translated into latin language.

As you can see, I know the basics of English. But playing in it makes me feel much better feeling in my native language.

Irony with Latin weak. As I wrote Paradox, titles that do not guarantee sales are issued in the Polish version. Certain for sale no longer. I write this with sadness as a fan from EU 1 in high school times.

Well, italians speakers are even more: 75 milions as first language + 51 milions as second language, for a total of 126 milions of italian speakers. So yeah, there is german, there is spanish, so why not add italian?

The question that PDS would ask when considering a translation is 'will this increase sales by enough to pay for the cost of doing it?'.

I'm guessing that for Polish, the answer is 'no'. Bottom line is that the majority of people in their target markets will already understand one of the languages that the game is translated into. How many people are there who speak Polish but don't understand English, French, or German? Genuine question. My intuition tells me the answer is 'not many at all', but maybe that is wrong.

I guess what I'm getting at is that if you want to make your case for translating the game into Polish, you'd do better to make more of a business case rather than a 'because it would make me feel good' case.

I do wonder if we would be able to create mods with language packs (that do not affect ironman).
Going to start work on an Ancient Greek one :D

Which languages Paradox translates games into is always under consideration based off markets and sales, but in the end there can only be a few at any given time.

Localization is an extremely expensive and extremely time-consuming process that requires specialized and knowledgeable employees or contracting a consulting firm. It is not just a matter of running a script through google translate or handing it and a bottle of 'thank you' bourbon to your friend's Polish grandma over a long weekend. Moreover, once a game is released in a given language, the company must be prepared to support that version through the life of the product, including offering tech support, updates, DLCs, etc; which all contributes to ongoing costs and language issues.

That said, I am closing this thread because it is already turning into a larger argument of "my language should be translated before your language".
