Came here to post this. The below screenshot was taken while having +400% vassal force limit from ideas and policies. I posted a thread in the bug report section last month but there's been no word from the devs on whether or not this is intentional.

Forgive me if I'm misreading, I'm tired, but isn't that exactly what we just described?

CNs give 5 FL above 10 provinces. 5*4 = 20

Newfoundland and Thirteen Colonies give 20 each so... it works?
I don't see the problem.

That's pretty cool. Should be WAD. Actually makes Vassal Force Limit modifier useful.

Colonial nations aren't vassals.
Technically... okay, I'm not going to start arguing semantics. It should read "subject force limit contribution", you're right.

Either way, it's WAD.

Been like that since release. And as mentioned before, the idea used to be a lot stronger because vassals gave FL based on BT.

Not a bug, it also works with Marches.

Tbh the real "bug" is that they FORGOT this modifier since they nerfed vassal contribution lol

if you roleplay something like Lübeck without expanding directly this might have some use

I will admit that this is a guilty pleasure of mine...

But I guess it also applies to other Maritime powers who like to get their trade on, like the Netherlands, Britain, Portugal, Makassar, etc.

I think that SOME options should be available for those who have different playstyles. If you want to take over the world, sure, not the most effective choice, but otherwise I think it can be very useful, especially with the new sailor costs to all missions (Having a large merchant navy just has better returns for me than a great big fleet of heavy ships wallowing in port).
