I was flipping through a book of medieval maps I have, and I think Poland has it all. They border on orthodox, pagan and christian lands. They have interests in making marriages in Germany and in Kiev. They have the will and cause to crusade or at least fight against the pagans in pommerania and prussia.

Later on they'll have Knights of the Sword and the Teutonic order to deal with. They also might get a piece of the Mongols!

Who can possibly hold a candle to that?

(and dont you dare say that no polish dynasty is playable  Piast perhaps?)

I am sure there will be playable Poles :)

It will indeed be interresting. It will be interresting to see how the breakup and later unification of the Kingdom of Poland will work out...

Poland was a kingdom before 1066, but was demoted, but returned to a kingdom again not long afterwards, well before it broke up into principalities...

Who can hold a candle to that? Various Russian principalities match your description as well. Here you have: pagans, Muslims, Teutonic knights, Mongols (more than a "piece"), Byzantines, Scandinavians... Relations with both the East and the West.

No need to have two Russias. I suggest: scrap Poland;)

ahhhhh :D shuddup web :D

I mean the real germans ;) not the teutonic knights - or was it Knights of the Sword?

Ok - yeah - but doesnt that fall under Novgorod?

Isn't it a merchant republic, or did Novgorod have a ruling dynasty and thus playability? ;)

Ok - so what do people want: Russia or Poland?

I sure hope Novgorod is playable. It did have princes, but they were invited - therefore, no dynasty.
Russia's contacts with Germans in the Baltic region go way back.

well Germans love annexing...and Russians just have a natural urge to gobble up land.

There WAS a time ....trust me there was...when Russians and Germans alike trembled in fear and paid homage to the King of the Poles.

Such a time will come again. Enjoy your days of superiority Russian, they are numbered and the days are passing you by!
