Im no expert at Polish history but I think I can recall there where very large numbers of protestants in Poland around this time and that many of the nobility was protestants aswell.

An interesting thing would be if Charlex X had succeded in taking the Polish crown, in his campaign against Poland. A book I read suggested he had that as a goal for a short time. Would he have, supported by protestant nobility, converted Poland!? :)

Languish,
well, I dont believe this could really happen, but it is not that unrealistic as some people may think.
Primo, in that period of history, Poland was one of most tollerant places on earth ( yeah, I know everybody thinks we were always ultracatholic). All kinds of different religions found their asylum here.
Secundo, reformed community was really strong in 17 century, e.g. lots of calvins among aristocracy ( see swedish invasion, they found lots of friendly foes in P-L).
Tertio, we had a bad habbit of electing weak monarchs, shall we had by mistake one strong king, nobody knows which direction Poland would go.

So, I defenitely wouldnt call your decision 'strange'.

Btw if not one stupid, too ambitious bastard who broke treaty with Turks ( see war against Turks in 1444 and battle of Warna) we could have faitfull and strong ( and definetely far from being 'catholic' :) ) ally, helpfull to sort out that mess we had later on.

czerpak

It is also worth noting i have second strongest economy after Spain, but actually twice the income per month than even the nearest competitor... :)

Don't forget too, that unlike most of these nations, i dont have either a far flung colonial empire nor have been engaging in major warfare until recently. It will be interesting to see these VP's in 1792 for sure :)

  1. Yea, Spain is a hard player.
    You were not aggressive (especially)
    ;)
    Good job marshal !!:) :D

interresting stuff...

The history of Polen-Lituania, as you presents it, is really exciting. I like your style of writing, which has inspired me to make my own AAR. I'm not sure what country to take control of yet....
