Has the political balance between Poland and Lithuania shifted somehow with version 1.09? The reason I ask is that in all 3 1.09 games in my family (one I finished, one by my son, and another one of mine, in progress), Lithuania has diploannexed Poland during the 1400s. In all of these games the human controlled nation had no interaction with the P-L alliance; it was "hands off" in that sense.

Now I admit that a sample of a mere three games is absurdly small to draw any kind of firm conclusion. On the other hand in 30 games with earlier versions I never saw Lith annex Poland like that, though I had heard accounts of this from other players.

So that's why I am asking here. I'd like to know if my experience has been a fluke, an odd statistical blip, or if it is consistent with a broader trend -- and a disturbing one, if true.

Is anything different about Poland and Lithuania in version 1.09?

Three times in a row is unusual, but I've seen it happen a couple of times. Usually Lithuania has won a war and taken territory from one of the Russian minors or the Teutonic Knights, or else Poland has been beaten up by Bohemia and/or Hungary and lost provinces. This causes Lithuania to have a stronger economy than Poland, so the vassalisation and diplo-annexation goes the opposite way. I'm annoyed by this as well - in the AI Project mod I put in a special event to try and stop it happening as easily.

Kinda like Castile and Portugal. I frequently see Castile/Spain vassalizing and then annexing Portugal.
