Im in a war against milan as scotland. I cant fight them. they cant fight me. We didnt declare war on each other we are just the only countries still fighting in a earlier war between our two alliances. I tried to offer peace with them but they wont accept it because noone has any stars. does this kind of war raise your war exaughstion and chance of rebelion and what should i do?

Just wait for them to send an offer. If you have almost no cash, they will demand something like 3 ducats for peace. Take that! Exhasution and things that can only be done when at peace (e.g. vassalisations) are worth more that a couple of ducats. Any war will prolong an alliance if you are at war when it is set to expire, which you may want to use, though.

Perhaps you could build yourself some boats, otoh... :D

Also, in a war like this - between two countries who can't get to each other - you can wait them out. The game will automatically impose a status quo peace after 36 months of no interaction between your armies. This means your armies and theirs don't get anywhere near each other and nether of you control the other's territory. You will get a bit of war exhaustion in the meantime, but you can also (if you like) exploit it by using war taxes to build your country up.

Don't rely on the 36 month white peace though, you can be all set up, here we go, 35 months gone and then they land 1k inf and you are back to day 1.

I have noticed in EU2 that the AI will offer white peace to get out of pointless wars a lot more than it did in EU1.

Also i have noticed a minor bug, if you have zero money, the AI will sometimes offer peace demanding, and then no figure is inserted. It's almost like they want to demand something but there is nothing to demand, so you get a white peace.

Very good points... except that in this specific case I think he can rely on the 36 month rule (It's supposedly Scotland vs. an AI Milan, with no allies still fighting - chances are Milan can't reach him at all. They probably don't have a coast, and thus no navy to invade Scotland with.) Normally I wouldn't have even suggested this strategy, but in this case it looks like the best for him (unless the AI asks for a peace and demands all of his zero cash). I certainly would rather wait them out than pay tribute.

im doing pretty well as scotland. Im in a decent alliance with France and Poland Lithuania and Savoy. Scotland is now about 3/4 of England's Island. Im 4th in VPs and the only real problem i see is economy which i am doing very poorly in. Its only 1498 though. Ill try to make my first AAR on this because it is suprisingly enjoyable playing as Scotland. Also after fighting two wars in a row (france declared war on spain and i on england) my army is down to 12000 and my navy is 1 transport and 4 warships. Still a very enjoyable game. I would suggest u try it.

Here's a solution: declare war on one of Milan's neighbours that has a coast. Then you can get at Milan too.:D
Beware though, Milan probably has a million troops by now.
