 The Scandinavian social welfare system makes Johan too laid back to be a hardcore strategy gamer. :D

EDIT: The interviewer really seems to know his HoI. Great podcast.

Troy here.

We both know our Paradox games pretty well. I've spent more time with HoI than Tom has, but we're both pretty keen that a developer even tries to make games like this - even though they don't always turn out great. The Paradox games come up a lot in our podcast (which is all strategy centered), in fact.

Re the noise, it was pretty bad but there weren't any conference rooms or anything we could use so we had to make do with the on floor meeting room. No ceiling and lots of noise in the background. It's really not a great place to show any game off at its best; all the lights, for example, were making the Wii Remotes act crazy. Recording was a bit of a trial, but I did as much filtering as I could.

And Johan is very laid back. It can't be the climate...

Many thanks to Susana, Johan and Kim Soares for agreeing to set this up. This is on track to be our most listened to episode yet - and it's mostly you guys as near as I can determine.

Though I appreciate that some people would like video, I'm not sure what it would have added. This wasn't a game demo - just a conversation. So the video would have just been four guys in a very tiny room. Not even sure where we would have put the camera.

This is an audio podcast - a radio show for all intents and purposes. And most of the time, the four people on the show are in different cities so it's not like we have the infrastructure or equipment in place. In fact, this was the first podcast we recorded without using Skype.

Also, no transcription, sorry. The podcast editing itself takes some time, and we're not making money for this. Having transcribed lots of interviews, I know how long it takes. And dictation software is useless with audio like that.
