anyway it needs a fix, i will discuss with bordic since he is doing italy
I am revising Italian minors, but not Venice. I have thought you were more interested in it.

About revised events, are you referring to the VEN and SPA fortification ones? I think we had been discussing them in their respective regional threads in agceep subforum.

About my post #114 in this thread.

Having seen a pic in the screenshot thread about Papal States owning Modena province I have rethought the revision of FER_17435.

Here is the PAP event which should now start the sequence with red and yellow modifications:
Code:
#(1597-1605) The acquisition of Ferrara
#by Bordic
event = {
	id = 251071
	trigger = {
		[COLOR=Red]event = 17435 #PAM: The loss of Ferrara

		control = { province = 392 data = -1 } #(not needed in a new map)[/COLOR]
		[COLOR=Yellow]neighbour = FER
		OR = {
			AND = {
				owned = { province = 402 data = -1 } #Modena
				control = { province = 402 data = -1 } #Modena

Ferrara was to be incorporated into the Papal states, and the court of the Este would move from the papal city of Ferrara to the imperial city of Modena.

I've split FER/MOD events, monarchs and leaders though on second thoughts it would have been better to wait for the possibility of countryname change in 1.3.

Code:
	trigger = {
		neighbour = FER
		OR = {
			AND = {
				owned = { province = 402 data = -1 } #Modena
				control = { province = 402 data = -1 } #Modena

			AND = {
				owned = { province = 402 data = FER } #Modena
				control = { province = 402 data = FER } #Modena
			}
                [COLOR="#FFFF00"]}[/COLOR]
		owned = { province = 1923 data = FER } #Ferrara
	}

The trigger for PAP_251071 missed an }. :p

Yes, even if I am thinking about how having FER surviving after 1598 if Modena province isn't owned. There would be all duplicated events to be fine tuned with "no existing MOD" trigger and vice versa... So, let's hope for countryname change...

The trigger for PAP_251071 missed an }. :p
Ok, thanks. Amended and added a reset flag command before changing the country tag.

I am trying to revise the events about the Mercenary wars in Italy from 1422 to 1454. Instead of revising each single country event file, may I post the concerned events here or in an attached file if easier to read?

In case, we should consider the possibility to mark each event as revised instead of each country event file.

Both are OK. See what's more convenient for you.

I have continued the revision of the events concerning other Italian Minors: this turn is for MANTUA, SIENA and FLORENCE.

1- About Mantua I won't upload any file as the events we currently have for MAN in PV are already good.

2- About Siena and Florence, here are my files:

Considering the possibility to have a "countryname change command" in the coming ftg patch, I haven't included any new tag such as TOS. There is however a tag changing command line in each concerned events with a # put before, just as a reminder.

We had a discussion about the possibility for a SIENA player to continue the game as FLORENCE -> Grand Duchy of Tuscany. Well, I have done some tweaks and a new SIE event to deal with this:

After long siege the city of Siena eventually surrendered on 17 April 1555 and was forced to renew her allegiance to the Emperor. The Emperor, in return, granted the Republican liberty of the Sienese state and confirmed her magistrates. He also abandoned the project to build a new fortress offering a garrison at his expenses and conceded the general pardon to the citizenship. The Sienese republic would remain under imperial protection until 1557, when Felipe II King of Spain assigned the administration of the Sienese territory to Duke Cosimo I de' Medici with the exception of the Sienese coastal cities which constituted the Spanish State of Presidi. The fate of Siena was confirmed by the treaty of Cateau-Cambrésis in 1559.

NEW event txt lines:

ACTIONNAME257006C;Rule Siena as the Grand Duchy of Tuscany;x

EVENTHIST257010;Acknowledging the Florentine Cosimo de' Medici as a new ruler strongly supported by the King of Spain, the Emperor and the Pope, the city state would reach the status of Grand Duchy of Tuscany, thus abandoning any republican form of government.;x

I would also like to know if we could use Siena province as to represent the State of Presidi ruled by Spain as a province, instead.

EDIT: improved spelling in desc257010.

I would also like to know if we could use Siena province as to represent the State of Presidi ruled by Spain as a province, instead.

I prefer NO on presidi as you are letting SPA into central Italy .........i see issues here

In regards to fixes for ferrara from my screenshot, I do not think we need to panic for 1 game, let us get a feel for what happens in many games before deciding if any nation needs tweaking

i like to see massa/sarzana become the issue in the NW italy

Ok, then.

Ok, I agree with Sarzana. Afaik Genoa sold it to Florence in 1467, then claimed back after the Pazzi conspiracy. But how Milan should be involved in the dispute as Genoa should be its vassal?

EDIT: maybe in case Genoa refuses to be vassalized?

PARMA event file for PLVS Vltra Mod is already good except for the following two events which need to be tweaked:

1- The first event modification is a ConjurerDragon's suggestion in the vanilla agceep subforum, Italy thread:
Code:
#(1547-1551) Assassination of Pier Luigi
#by Aylo1
event = {

	#-#Illegitimate son of Alessandro Farnese (aka Pope Paul III), Pier Luigi was created Duke of Parma and Piacenza in 1545 by his father the Pope. Ruling with an iron fist, he incurred the wrath of the local nobility who hung him from a window in his palace. Piacenza was occupied by Imperial troops, whilst Pope Paul III tried reclaiming Parma for the Church, ignoring his grandson Ottavio's right to the succession. In the ensuing civil war, Ottavio ultimately emerged victorious outwitting his grandfather the Pope and his father-in-law Holy Roman Emperor Karl V to become Duke of Parma.

2- The following event needs a complete revision. As it is now this event seems to never fire due to lack of information to a human player about what is to be conquered. The PAR event about Polish Succession also doesn't give cores. However the main issue with these events is that if Naples is owned by Spain, PAR_390025 is meaningless as Spain and not Parma will release Bourbon Naples.

Sleepevent command should also be provided for 239025, as it is potentially an issue because it fires if Naples is currently existing.

Here it is:

Code:
#(1733-1736) Carlo I occupies Naples and Sicily

So, about PAR_390025 I'd like to split it into two events. Here is my suggestion for the short sequence:

THE SPANISH BOURBONS FROM PARMA TO NAPLES

	#-#In the war of Polish succession Felipe V of Spain supported France in her fight against Austria and Russia in order to make the French candidate to be elected as King of Poland. He hoped in this way to secure Mantua for the elder son, Don Carlos, who, already Duke of Parma as Carlo I, had also the expectation of Tuscany and to give the Kingdoms of Naples and Sicily to the younger son, Don Felipe. Since Austria was fighting on several fronts on the Rhine against France and on Lombardia against Savoy, Spain easily conquered Naples and Sicily which Austria had previously occupied during the war of Spanish succession. In 1735 the peace treaty that followed the war of Polish succession established that Felipe's son Carlos (later Charles III of Spain) should give up the duchy of Parma, which he had inherited in 1731 as descent of the Farnese family through his mother, Elisabetta Farnese, Queen of Spain and any claim to Tuscany, given to the Duke of Lorraine after Gian Gastone, the last of the Medicis, died. In exchange for that, Don Carlos was confirmed the possession of his conquests in Southern Italy. On 3 October 1735 Don Carlos, named Carlo VII King of Naples and Carlo V King of Sicily, established the cadet line of the Spanish House of Bourbons in the Kingdoms of Naples and Sicily (renamed Kingdom of Two Sicilies after 1815).

I don't know if PAR_390029 needs to have cores on Naples. It's really hard to find a good compromise. That is, do we need NAP provinces being not owned by Spain or Naples in order for PAR to get the cores? Shouldn't SPA reconquer NAP provinces back? And what happens if SPA get them and PAR has still a core on them? SPA war-annexes PAR?

EDIT1: added references to Capitanata

EDIT2: this sequence is WIP as there are more issues to be solved...

EDIT3: the sequence seems now to be working as expected.

1419 - ANARCHY IN THE PAPAL STATES

So I would suggest to have province 399 be controlled by rebels.

Province 399 should be under siege by the already present army (Unfortunately, I don't know how it works, maybe more infantry or a particular setup such as the "looted province" command works?)
The Papal army in Rome doesn't besiege Rome until new troops are received (due to a game glitch of armies not besieging rebellious province they are located in at the beginning of a scenario/savegame). The result is PAP government falling when Marche (vanilla) or Marche and Romagna (watkabaoi) are occupied by rebels.

One solution that worked out is to have the Papal army start in Marche. This army fights the rebels that appear in Marche with event PAP_251033, defeats them (or loses - doesn't matter unless army is reduced to less than 5k, which is unlikely) and moves to besiege Rome. PAP_251034 gives more rebels in Marche and Romagna so usually Marche and Romagna fall while Lazio is retaken by PAP. In watkabaoi this works fine because PAP control of Avignon maintains the government. Eventually, PAP manages to defeat the rebels and retake the legations.
