Hey all! I'm new to this game and having a good time so far. Played a game as Sweden, did fairly well. Decided to try Prussia. Besides a whole lot of micro-managing I have problems with plurality at approx. year 1900. I can understand if it's high around -48, and some events helped me back then. But now I'm stuck with all these rebels, how do I rid myself of them?

Have you checked the wiki article about plurality? It's a bit old but still useful read. Gives the basic understanding about it.

I thought Sweden starts as/is a Con. Mon. and thus doesn't suffer from plurality? Maybe the pops just have high militancy?

Perhaps the answer can be found with careful rereading:

Plurality still plays a role even in Con Mons in terms of the impact of the existence or lack of social and political reforms. This is separate from the political impact of plurality on elections and changing governments.

As plurality rises, the impact of the reforms at their various stages grows. Their base level is reached when plurality reaches 50, and then above 50 it grows as a ratio, so that at 60 plurality the POP experiences 1.2x the base level of constant +/- MIL growth for that reform, and at 100 plurality the impact is 2x. Below 50 and the ratios are less than 1, so 40 plurality produces 0.8x the base rate.

To draw from an example :

ScreenSave2-3.jpg

This is the impact of having good healthcare for POPs in a VIP:R game as Britain where pluralty is at 100

If I were to choose this level of reform, my lower class POPs would have a constant -0.20/year MIL decline, while my upper class POPs would have a constant +0.10/year MIL rise.

If my plurality were 50, the levels would have been -0.10 and +0.05 respectively, and increased/decreased further as plurality rose in my society, so if I enacted the reform at 50 plurality, my low class POPs would as the game went along get even more MIL reduction as plurality rose, making them more sedate, while the Upper Class POPs would have gained MIL as the game went along.

I don't know about you, but I've never had to worry about those lazy aristocrats revolting

I've tried, I can't get their militancy up high enough to cause that. Besides, that wouldn't make sense anyway---they always get other people to do their fighting. And Capis? Yeah, too fat to fight

Anyway, as Prussia you will have lots of rebellion problems. Reforms COULD help, but your best bet is to simply accept the Frankfurt proposal; rebellions seem immensely diminished after that.
Should you prefer to hold the Monarchy, you WILL have trouble; you can decrease this with lower taxes, some reforms such as censored press (think you can't do free press) or unions.

Also, if you keep certain future problem areas under military garrison before the whole thing starts in the 40s and through it, you can decrease militancy ahead of time. Places to do this would be say, Berlin and areas of Poland you control, and you can always check your ledger to find that list of provinces with highest militancy (this is militancy too low to cause revolt, but which can still add in the future to problems).

The only rich pop I've ever had problems with revolting is officers. Those damn reactionary dictators constantly hate my liberal democratic rule!

I had problems with capitalist militancy in one VIP USA game (with 1.03c patch). If I remember correctly I had enacted too many reforms and I had to remove some of them near the end of that game because the militancy was rising despite military units being stationed to provinces with capitalists.
