Do you see the actual plundering event only when you're leading the army when you take a holding?

Or does this modifier always happen whenever a province hasn't been sacked in ten/twenty years?

You only see it when you personally lead the army, but it seems to fire for AI commanders as well.

By the way, it is a highly ridiculous event. Not because it's inconceivable that it can happen, but because it fires for literally everyone. It gets especially annoying when I play as a culture that can raid, like the Norse, for instance.

Yeah, steal my prestige and give me a negative modifier for doing exactly what the Vikings did, aye.

Raiding was different from conquest, as it is in CK2. I think it's fair that using conquest as an excuse to steal more stuff and destroy the land is fined, it either makes you look weak for not keeping the two separate or it makes you look like a jerk. Does it trigger for nomads, though?

I'm actually not sure if it does trigger for nomads. I do know that it triggers every time there is a siege, which also happens when you have a large enough army to siege a holding down. This is what bothers me - if I raid with a large Viking army and end up sieging the holding down (causing it to get looted, naturally), this event triggers with 75% probability.
