Pls make the AI to prioritize player's units on the frontline because the AI just kept eating all the supplies in the frontline and were being incompetent even when I give way to let them be on the frontline themselves. I've had so many invasion ruined because the AI kept flooding my frontline, so please paradox tweak the AI behavior to always make them give way to player's units on the frontline. I mean the AI airforce already do this, most of the time they will move their airforce if you move your airforce to an overcrowded AI airfield. We need the AI only send their army to a frontline where a player is present if the infrastructure could support it, and when a player send more units to that supply zone then the AI should move away if they have units there. This would make the player's able to control the AI much more and also help with just how incompetent the AI is at managing supplies.

...because the AI just kept eating all the supplies in the frontline and were being incompetent even when I give way to let them be on the frontline themselves. I've had so many invasion ruined because the AI kept flooding my frontline...

I was just going to start a new topic explaining how this ruined my most recent game as UK and has lead me to give up on HOI4 SP again. For me the worst is not just the invasion failing, but watching 10 or 20 USA divisions go up in smoke because not only do they over fill a small invasion beachhead, but they won't move out and abandon it when it becomes hopeless.

On a more productive note, does anyone have any workarounds or strategies to suggest to making these problems less severe?

For example, I am experimenting with tagging over to the ally that has flooded the area and giving movement orders to send the extra units away. It does seem sometimes to help, but it would be extremely tedious to do over and over. Any other suggestions?

This problem exists because every nation's AI manages its military affairs as if it is fighting all by itself - there is no "Supreme Commander AI" function. Even if you were to draw a battle plan and then request expeditionary forces, your AI allies will still draw up their own battle plans and still send units to fill those, in addition to the ones they send to you as expeditionary forces. The failure to somehow allow an alliance to delegate battle sectors or regions means that the AI will always behave this way, and we will thus always be dealing with AI division spam because those front lines are prioritized.

The game should be able to delegate different regions to different AI nations, and hopefully this will be done in the land combat revision. The way it should work is for groups of nations to be bunched into strategic regions, and then one nation commands everything within or targeting that region. Thus, if divisions and/or aircraft are needed to fight in a region, one nation commands, while the rest send expeditionary forces - they only retain their own naval units as navies can cooperate without choking supply lines. Your allies navies contribute to naval sea zone intelligence and to convoy escort efficiency, et cetera.

On the battlefield itself, I would like to see some manner of "battle sector", wherein an army group would be set to advance through a set sector of the battlefront. Basically, a line is drawn so that there are advance corridor boundaries that an army will not cross, just as if it were respecting a national border, which would go a long way to reducing the repositioning of divisions along an entire battlefront. This cannot be done with the current system as the battle lines automatically lengthen as soon as new territory is taken.

This problem is here already for a long time and I've already given up about it. Why do the devs not say anything about it or plan to fix it after many years? It's so frustrating to lose all your expensive division as a minor because your ally flood the supply and you can't get out in time and end up being overrun. I can't even help my ally as a major because he flood his frontline with bad units with no supply making it impossible for me to help him as well. Would be great if we can a communication tool to tell ally to get away.
