I think it's time to give some love to the character portraits. It will be much more immersive if there is just more variation. It is nice that the character's faces look good thanks to the DNA system but let's be honest some cultures have very little variation... Especially the Persian/Mesopotamian/Anatolian portraits which represent a huge chunk of the map and almost always use a color variation of the Persian hat (which looks like a flower pot). I also hope that the character's appearance will change depending on his occupation kind of like in CK2. For example, let kings wear crowns and generals helmets, add more visual distinction to rich/important characters who are in the council and minor characters who don't have any importance.
While it doesn't change anything gameplay-wise it would still make managing characters a lot more engaging!
