Has anyone else experienced a situation where both joining a character's internal plot (break free from clan) and inviting another clan to an attack plot (standard attack the X clan plot) instantly triggered a war declaration from the clan involved?

I had a situation last night playing as Shimazu where a Daimyo within Ouchi asked me to join a plot to break free, upon accepting, Ouchi declared war. I then created a plot to attack Ouchi and invited Kikuchi to join, who refused and immediately declared war on me in return.

Unfortunately I don't have a save file to post if it turns out to be bug-worthy for investigation. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this.

That's odd. Did you happen to check their relation values right before or after they DOW'd you? Maybe there was a modifier that would help find out what happened.

I can imagine the Ouchi must've detected the Plot when you joined, and got a big relations penalty thus DOW'ing you. Perhaps your 'Intrigue' attribute wasn't favorable in comparison with theirs and you failed a check on joining that plot? But the second case is likely more complicated.

Both scenarios are plausible. But what I don't get is the Kikuchi insta-dec after asking them to join a plot against Ouchi. It wasn't even a day apart, it was "No I won't join" popup underneath the war declaration popup.

If it happens again the next time I play through as Shimazu, I'll double check the values. Or, just do what I normally do and make sure I absorb Kikuchi early. If I let them hang around too long they really make it difficult to expand as Shimazu.
