Just the little things like Coloured LOS lines and Mech Spin, they change nothing for gameplay, but they definitely makes things look more polished and finished!
At this point some of them have probably been as play tested as they are ever going to get!

Yes, my list of mods that "should be in stock" is very short and two of the three are those you listed. I'd say dashed indirect fire lines are more important than colors, HBS mentioned color schemes get muddled for color-blind users. The dashing would solve this issue and be very obvious to everyone. My three mods that need to be stock are:
  • BT Performance Fix
  • ColorLoS
  • MechSpin
As a 4th, but not actually a mod would be "Heraldry on every 'Mech's default skin" as I feel that's still something that should be default.

I actually started using ColorLOS specifically because I have a bit of colour blindness, although more recently with the newer version (as came with 3025 CE) that shows arc fire as well I just find the extra information too useful to pass up on so I am using it like that.

I could see making colored LOS an option. The current lines look better than the mods I have seen, but they can blend in with some of the terrain on occasion and indirect fire isn't always obvious. I wouldn't make the colored LOS the default, but it would be a good option to have.

I haven't seen MechSpin in action, but it sounds like a good addition.

I will second a request for heraldry available on all mechs. I realize this probably takes more effort than it may seem, but it would be a good QoL improvement.

Any performance improvements would be welcomed.

Neat idea, but I could probably list 100 things I'd want them working on before they started looking into mech tops.

But the LoS thing, hell yeah. Should have had that by the time flash points dropped.

1) Changing the color of an indirect firing arc is literally one the easiest and practical fixes that could be done.

2) These are MWO models so they would have had heraldy slots to start with , but unlike being on the ground like in that game, I assume it was overlooked because most of the time the camera isn't close enough or the best angle to see it.

HBS mentioned color schemes get muddled for color-blind users.

-Thats not a reason....is HBS scared they are going to be boycotted if they don't please every single category out there?

On topic:

Donvale why dont just download the mod? no need to ask HBS to do something they do not want to do.

PS

other games have an "optional feature" when it comes to accommodating the color blinded folks, as not to ruin it for everyone, so HBS' weak excuse doesn't hold.

It also takes lots of work to get colour blind modes to look right for the persons with the issues in question. Heck there are games out there that have colour blind modes, but in actuality the modes only simulate versions of colour blindness, and therefor do not actually work for the person that is colourblind (IIRC Crysis or Crysis 2 does this). It's not a matter of want or excuses, it's a matter of time resources when they were building out the game.

HBS could implement a colourblind mode(s) in the future since they have more resources now (not necessarily time). Though as Amechwarrior said a dashed line would help, and would probably take way less resources/time to implemen), but only time will tell.

I have, but that's kind of irrelevant to the suggestion because:

1. HBS don't officially supports mods, this means a multiplayer can't use this solution without massive bother. I am also on macOS and frequently require wiping the machine, the mod mechanic is troublesome to set up every time as I have to migrate files to Windows, run the modification tool, migrate back to macOS.

2. The mods genuinely make the game both better to look at and easier to play, they also have zero impact on the mechanics and require minor effort to implement, my suggestion is all players should be able to benefit from this. They can also be easily implmented in such a way that they have literally zero impact of those not interested in them, i.e. all lines left as red for example.

"Most" modern tv and monitors brands (did a little bit of homework) do have a feature for CVD (color visions deficiency didnt know that) suffering individuals, any game developer who thinks it needs to divert resources for accommodating people with CVD is being wasteful.

PS

the are even apps for phones to aid people with CVD, covering the known 3 varieties of CVD out there.

and most Apple Laptops can run Windows and yet it's still worth it to develop a entirely seperate macOS version...

The fact that a TV or monitor may have a feature that can help (almost certainly only marginally of course considering the TV and monitor knows zero about the actual content and adjusting colour saturation, contrast and gamma correction etc... only goes so far towards correcting certain issues. ).
This doesn't mean developers are wasting their time when they improve their UI, something all developers should be doing pretty much all the time and not just for CVD, literally nobody gets this right first time.
