Wait, this is a serious thread? I really thought this was satire.
It's a serious thread about a serious desire to see even more of not-so-serious stuff in fun game known as HoI4.

History Channel: Did Vishnu use guided incendiary missiles to vanquish his enemies? Find out now on "Ancient Aliens"! Coming up next is "Monster Quest", followed by "Hairy Bikers" and finale of season 3 of "Hunting Hitler"!
People watching History Channel: Man, I had no idea history is so awesome!

Hunting Hitler did not find Hitler.

Hunting Hitler did a brilliant job of documenting the Nazi Ratlines that allowed them to flee justice with the tacit permission of Rome and Western Intelligence

a... bonus ? even though it was detrimental in every way ? by diverting personnel and materiel away from actual war-fighting purposes ? seriously ?

I'm seriuos there was a mod that gave Germany a boost

I'm also in complete agreement with you that the drain on rolling stock, manpower, and the pure evil of things that cannot be discussed on this forum are an outrage to humanity.

I don't think glorifying N*zi occult fetish really has a place in Hoi4, if anything someone could mod it. No Paradox developer would ever do something like this, the idea is ridiculous.

The difference between what you're proposing and Sunset Invasion is that the subject of Sunset Invasion happened lived nearly 600 hundred years ago, while N*zis lived 70 years ago. It's still a taboo subject, as it should be. (And its pretty cringe.)

Edit: I honestly thought this was a shitpost and I'm still not totally convinced it isn't. I hope for yoursake it is.

The OP was not so much asking for Nazi occult as he was just for anything overtly silly and not limited to alt-history. He used the Nazi occult pitch as an initial hook to pull us suckers in for more serious discussion on a silly topic. Unless I am misreading. Or misleading - you decide. Maybe its a conspiracy!

I remember writing an essay in elementary school about how shows like that were always so predictable, like they'd dig around, find some amazing evidence but then completely fail to prove it.

Like I could see an episode of Hunting Hitler end with them finding a house owned by an A. Hitler, knock on the door, get no answer and then cut to credits. Same with that bigfoot show.

And I mean in hindsight it makes sense, if they were to find what they were looking for, show's over, money-well goes dry. But they also have to provide an exciting show, so if they can't find what they're looking for, they have to pretend it's just out of reach, one more episode and they'll get there.

Yeah, As Duke said - I am not specifically "glorifying nazi occult fetish". I am clamoring for more occult in general(added in some optional small DLC) and it just so happens that from WW2 there is much more nazi occult content in the tinfoil science community.
I've said it earlier - I would also love to see other stuff like evil mindcontrolling commies or Statue of Liberty turning out to be actually a Giant Death Robot...

Soviet science resurrecting Lenin ?
Oh, that's a nice idea! Either leave this momentous task to world's premier biologist, Comrade Lysenko or just attack bourgeois Britain, seize Egypt and make a dark pact with Anubis, the god of the dead and embalming.
Why struggle choosing successors in soviet focus tree among left, right and center when Lenin lived, Lenin lives and Lenin will live (again)!!!

Okay, I think Nazi Occultism is ridiculous, and hope they never go down that route (other than making fun of Himmler or Hess), but I think playing as Germany and having Hitler conquer Europe is a lot worse when we talk about Nazis and taboos.

I would disagree because the game is trying to replicate historical events, because in a WWII game that's unavoidable, Germany's actions are the driving factors. A DLC featuring N*zi Occultism, which is inherently supremacist, is entirely avoidable because it's fantasy. I'd rather Paradox avoid it entirely and leave it modders.

It's kinda offtopic but it has been bugging me for a while... Why are you writing the word nazi without letter "a"? It's not like forum rules forbid using it.

My point is, that some Nazis worship and believe in dead Gods isn't really that much of a taboo. I just find it weird that you find occultism with a miniority among Nazis (again, it is a meme and ridiculous) problematic, but not actually playing a gane revolving around Nazis conquering the world

Again, I don’t have a problem playing a game revolving around Nazis because that’s literally what happened. You cannot have a WWII game without Nazis, nor should you. That’s not taboo, those are historical facts.

However when talking about Nazi Occultism, it just makes me uncomfortable when we talk about adding it in the game. Why? Because it isn’t historical and giving Nazis any more content/“time on the screen” is problematic because it makes them “special.” Nazi occultism is overblown and cringe anyway. If anything I think an alien invasion DLC as the “last Dev Hoorah” would be killer. But let’s leave glorifying Nazi Occultism out of it please.

This will be my last post about it because I do not want to clog up your thread with my POV, I would like to see conversations about your topic flourish.

It is very easy to mod this game to avoid the Nazi party. KaiserReich has been doing it for over a decade. Me, personally, first thing I do is eliminate Hitler IF I want to play German Wehrmacht Panzer Tactics. And in previous builds I just modded him and his worst advisors out of the game entirely and simply give Germany a Prussian military government focused on martial activities and completely avoid the religious suppression.

Unfortunately, the occult roots of the Nazi Party are neither a meme nor ridiculous and it is frightening to think people perceive it in this way (in no way is this comment aimed at you or anyone in this thread but rather it is a general statement). They are very real and very deadly. It is unfortunate that it has become a punch line when it should serve as a red flag and warning that playing with this system of belief will bring about a Final Solution for all humanity in the end.

Bringing about and end to humanity by playing with occult could be also fun. In Stellaris there is this one fun unofficial crisis where if you play with mystical forces from beyond too much you may cause a cataclysm that will kill everything in galaxy (you included). Would be fun to see something like that. It could be Cthulhu, he lent you his dark powers but then comes demanding payment with all the lives on earth. Or It could be Aliens... You reverse-engineer technology from their crashed spaceship to build flying saucers and robots (like those in Wolfenstein) but unknowingly also activate homing beacon which then attracts their Deathfleet to Earth.

Let’s just say you have an odd idea of fun.

Best of luck.
