Yeah, after playing Victoria it's just weird to see those uninspiring shades of brown in EU4. I hope that Wiz would notice at least one of our threads.
EDIT: Oh, I didn't notice he marked your thread as helpful. Well, now this thread is obsolete.

The problem is that it's bundled with the rest of the country file, which obviously needs to be checksummed as a whole. We'd have to break the colors out into their own files... don't think it's worth the effort.

Maybe it could work as an additional file with list of color overrides that the game would read just before creating the map? If it's not that hard to implement, of course.

Suggestion: Add a file with custom country colors, that overrides the colors in the country files, and does not get checksummed.

So if it contains BRA = {255 128 128} CAS = {150 100 0} it would make Brandenburg pretty in pink and Castille would be even more poopy than usual, while every other nation would have its normal color.

Think how awesome it would be, people will never complain about country colors again! :)

Edit: Oh that's kinda exactly what @WDkun said.

Yes, could that not be possible?

I have to disagree with the point, that it isn't worth effort in general, cause aesthetics and colours play a big role when you look at the map for hours and the colours just do not fit.
The Ottomans should be red, Swiss should be red, Bavaria light blue, Saxony dark green, Poland darker, Scotland dark blue ... and so on and so forth, I can not be the only one who greatly bothers this.

Just let it edit ourselves without destroying the ability to play Ironman. ;)

Not to be impolite, but that's how it should'be been done from the beginning. A separate file defining country colours, just like there is a separate file defining unit colours.
