Good evening folks!

First at all, i own stellaris from gog
Now i want to get some mods running, nothing wild just a little bit optical stuff.

I have finally managed to get the mod downloaded from the workshop through a third party site. Dont know it better ....
How can i get this frigging thing running?

The mod i want to use is Real Space 3.4. and the supported version number is 2.5.1 till now all should be fine...

I have two files in the zip. The 1st is - i assume - the contend folder and the 2nd is the MOD File.

After research via google i have found out the i need two folders to get the mods running.

I have created a mod folder with the path :
C:\Users\XXXXXXXXX\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\mod

And created a directory with the path:
C:\Users\XXXXXXXXX\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\workshop\content\281990

Now i have moved the contend folder to the 281990 directory and the MOD File is still sitting in /mod

But the the mods dont show up in the launcher, after many more research i have found the wierdest things about mod the mod file. Things like remove the remote ID or set an other path inside the file.

Nothing has worked.

Slowly but steady i get the feeling buying the game on gog was a mistake...

What can i do ?

I am no expert but can't you just make it as a local mod instead of some shenanigans with creating fake Steam folders?
Put the mod folder into C:\Users\xxx\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\mod and change the path in the *.mod file to point to this exact spot.

I have a local mod made by myself called QoL. I have QoL folder inside mod directory, *.mod file inside this directory as well with this line inside:
Code:
name="Quality of Life"
path="C:/Users/xxx/Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/mod/qol"
tags={
    "Gameplay"
}
supported_version="2.3.x"
And lastly qol.mod file inside my /qol/ directory with this code:
Code:
name="Quality of Life"
path="mod/qol"
tags={
    "Gameplay"
}
supported_version="2.3.x"

Or better yet, if I recall correctly, you can activate Stellaris on Steam if you kave the key from GoG.
