PLEASE HELP Coing 1983-1403

I have a realy weird Coin.
The Coin is a yellow thing. Copper i beleive.
It is some strange symbol.
And the text, that i can read.
1983-1403 IN THAT ORDER not 1403-1983.
On the Other side, It says 100.
And strange symbols.
I realy would like to know if anyone out there have any idea, or tip so they can help me.

Could be a coin of one Islamitic state. 1983AD is 1403AH. It also explains `strange symbols`. Gotta a picture? I have some experience with coins.

er... if you could actually send it to me i'm sure i could identify it... yeah... then send it back. i also offer identification services for gold bullion, miscellaneous pottery and silver and naked people. Probably.


Joking apart, if you can't get an answer online it might be worth trying at your local university or something. i'm sure there'll be somebody who can identify it for you or at least point you in the right direction. Just make sure it's not foil covered chocolate first!

Um... just a quick idea that's probably nothing. Are you sure the second figure is a year? It could signify the fourteenth of march 1983. Perhaps the coin is a comemmorative item of kind.

Are there only numerals? No text whatsoever , possibly on the edge of the coin? You could take it to an antique collectors or possibly a currency exchange.Please let us know when you find out.

Here is the coin i was talking about. And as i said i have no idea what it is.

Beautifull.I have absolutley no idea what they are though.Looks like Arabic on the original mystery coin.

The first coin is clearly arabic, with 1403 being the year in AH as somebody else said.
The second coin looks like a replica issued by a BP petrol station

Since the first coin is apparently Arabic, wouldn't that mean that it should be read from right to left and thus "1983-1403" is really "1403-1983"?

OK guys,
The 1st coin is 100 Millim (=1/10 Dinar) of Tunisia from 1983 (Hijra year: 1403).
The 2nd one is AFAICS a token. I don`t know much about tokens so I cannot tell more about it.

Yes; it`s an expensive hobby of mine.

I have that as a hobby as well. But it is hard i beleive.
I have coins of 1800-2000 Swedish, and some bills.
20.000 Reichmark from 1923
And some jubilee coins.
I have 50 year of UN conmemoration Coin.
A jubilee coin of a Moscow Olympics and such.
But it is hard i beleive.
If you have a scanner maby i could see your pride.
