I can't believe this was even a discussion. Should have put in an option to hide disagrees if they are that bothersome to certain users. "Disagree" was a nice catch-all for all the possible reasons I could have for disagreeing with a topic. The new option is too loaded, and I feel railroads the open sandbox experience I signed up for when joining the Paradox forums.
Since the can of worms has been opened we need options that properly represent the spectrum of possible agreement. Adverbs that should be added to this list may include but are not limited to:
)Vehemently
)Moderately
)Indifferently

I don't think so, because people won't actually read the tooltip on it and will still interpret the little cross in the same way as before.Now you can only Respectfully Disagree, Does that help?
EDIT: However if that's the compromise needed to retain a Disagree option then I'm all for it!

I could agree here. I don't want the disagree buttons at all and if they would be hideable then I could just hide them and just pretend that they don't exist at all and that all I see is the agrees and the helpful ratings. I could live happily in my little imaginary bubble and thinking that everyone agrees with everything.

If you really want to bubble your self you can use browser addons like addblockplus to hide the element containing the disaggree button+redcross+number
I use this function to hide all the social media buttons on news sites and so on.

I did it and now it looks great. The great thing about is that I can still rate things.

It seems they settled for "Respectfully Disagree" as of today !
So if we want to disagree more explicitly, we will have to post an answer instead of clicking Disagree.

Can you provide an example of when this would be used? I can't think of a situation where this would be applicable while being useful. A simple disagreement does not contribute to a discussion unless it is elaborated to counter the original argument.

Another problem is when you make a long post (hello wall of words), you cannot tell with what part of your argument, proposition or even facts they disagree EDIT: or agree. Then that is not very helpful.
