Please fix the "you must wait a day..." bug.

I keep seeing this warning no matter how much i wait to offer alliances. It's still there even if i load the game.

Do you mean the warning is still there even if an in game day passes, and you still cannot offer alliances? If so, try disabling mods and/or verifying game files. If that doesn't work, file a bug report.

are you sure its not just your machine runs so slow a day hasnt actually passed?

I've seen this too recently. Rarely and no real pattern. But I have seen it. Reloading seems to fix it.

I've had this a few times, and have no mods installed, it's really annoying, restarting the game usually fixes it

I hope this, one day gets fixed, but seeing the state of Europa Universalis, I doubt. Exit to menu fixes it, quite annoying thing.

I fail to see how that's possible, given that the one day delay thingy is a very recent addition to the game. I think you and OP must be talking about two different issues.

I'm positive that is literally false, considering 1 billion hours is just above 114,000 years of effective playtime. That means you would have started playing it during the Older Stone Age, which I found rather doubtful since the game came out just a handful of years ago. While I get your point, please don't use 'literally' and extreme hyperbole in the same sentence. It detracts from credibility.

Do you do many diplomatic actions at the same time, ever?

I have this bug daily, it happens pretty much every X hours, when I'm doing a lot of diplomatic actions at the same time. So that's a hint for Paradox DEVs where to look for. Just do multiple actions , one after another, and it's nearly 100% guarantee you'll end up with "have to wait a day", but options remain to be greyed out/unavailable, and only exitting to menu helps, loading does nothing, as it still says "you have to wait a day".

You mean you wait for longer than a day and still can't send an alliance offer? I've never seen it happen.

The one day wait is necessary for recalculating things related to alliances, like potential CtAs, opinion modifiers, willingness to join etc.

This actually came up in a legal/defamation battle between two YouTubers where someone tried to use the legal defense that their statement of "literally X" was figurative.
