I know this has probably been said before. It is a well known problem / bug.
But no fix has yet been made and until this is fixed the game is more or less unplayable.

Problem:
Every time a day / tick passes in game. it freezes for a few microseconds.
This causes stuttering at fast and fastest speed that can cause nausea and motion sickness when moving the camera.
This happens even when all cpu cores are at only 10% or lower.
Tried on multiple systems.

I like the game.. I like it a lot. So please please prioritize this problem.

Do you have any applications that measure the time between frame X being rendered and frame X+1 being rendered? If so what is the "average" frame times and what is the "1%" low frame times?? Basically I'm asking how bad is it?

I have super low expectations for the game and I'm not particularly sensitive to motion distortion so this may not be something I'd really notice.

NOTE: I was having horrible performance problems including stutter in 2.2.0 to 2.2.3. I had to fix a [stupid] configuration error on my part AND lower the game visual settings. Between that, 2.2.4 Beta, Glavius AI, and an SSD my performance went up dramatically AND an enormous [seconds long stutter on day 1] seems to have been resolved. Because stutter seems to be dependent on your exact system and what you personally feel is "ok" what solves things for me may not do anything for you.

TL/DR: Your mileage may vary

performance with 2.2.4 got marginal better, its still pretty much not enjoyable playing in late game

not to mention the various other issues still plaquing the game

This is perhaps my favourite issue of the 2.2 era. Because everyone has this problem, and yet, as ever, people barge in and insist that they don't have it. If you are reading this comment and think I am stupid and facetious, and that you certainly don't have this stuttering problem thank you very much, please do one thing for me. Record your game on normal speed, and scroll around the galactic map. Then, post a link to the video here.

This has already happened. People who criticised others for complaining about this awful problem recorded their own videos and triumphantly posted them as proof that they didn't have the problem - only for everyone to point out that they clearly had it.

My frames do not drop below 80 fps and run at around 140 fps.
as for lowering visuals.. I\m running an RTX 2080.
cpu on this sytem is a Ryzen 1700x But i\m experiencing the same on intell cpus.
tried Glavius with no effect as well.

trying to move it over to my ssd but i\m curently running it on a raid. Also.... a game should rely not be accessing the disk that often.

Are you running the 2.2.4 beta?

not running the beta.
they fixed it in the beta?

I still get plenty of stutter in v2.2.4, however. It's easy to have a stutter cause a click to fail to register, etc.

I don't think it's my computer.. 6 cores at 4GHz, 32GB, 2x GeForce Titan Xp, NVMe SSD.

no its not your computer, there is stuttering even on my 1600x, people are just willfully blind to it, the performance isnt anywhere close to pre 2.2 and the devs themselves have said they will try to do more performance improvements.

I had to abandon a game Sunday that was in the beta patch. I'd had gateways turned up to max, and after a few decades I got unbearable stutter. Which was sad - I thought they would have that fixed by now.

The thing is that even if someone *is* having a stutter problem, if it's small enough that they don't notice it, or have to specifically watch for it to notice it, it isn't really affecting them to the degree where it's a problem.

So people who are saying they're not affected might either

1) Not have it to a degree where it impacts on their enjoyment (not to say they aren't seeing it, just it doesn't affect their play)
2) Not even notice it because the effect is so minor for them
3) Effectively just have a slowdown, but still have a mostly even play speed.

However, since it's something the devs have acknowledged and are working on (as shown by it turning up in patch notes), does raising yet more threads about it actually serve any real purpose? It's being worked on, regardless of whether these threads appear or not, and we'll get a solution when it is found - or more likely we'll get the solutions as each one is found, since it appears "fixed" or "mostly fixed" for different people in the various patches - and even for some of those who aren't saying it's "fixed", they're saying it's much improved, indicating that since it's much improved for them but not for others that it isn't a single cause.

Those three possibilities you present leave out an important fourth option: they don't realise they have stutter, even though it is major.

Yes, the devs have acknowledged the problem. But the devs also acknowledged plenty of things which have not been fixed, and might never be. If we knew that the devs were going to work solidly on fixing the problems with the game, and not work on any additional DLCs until all the problems were solved, then yes, threads like this would perhaps be unnecessary. But that is not the case. The clock is ticking, and each new week might be the week that the executives at Paradox decide that the next DLC needs to be started.

I hate to tell you this, but the next DLC will have been started regardless of whether there are problems or not. It might only be a theme and the basics of what they want, and only on paper so far, but it will have been started, at least to that extent.
The one after that might have been started as well, at least in outline.

As for not realising they have stutter, even if it's major - surely that comes under not having it to a degree where it impacts on them, or not noticing it?

I guess my point with asking whether raising the thread *again* has any value is largely whether you think raising the thread will actually make them fix it any quicker?
Raising a collective thread immediately after a patch going "the stutter is still here for me" has value - since it is new information. Raising a thread that's essentially "yeah, you're working on it, but it's still broken like it was the day after the last patch was released" doesn't really do anything to get them to work harder or faster.
It's also not like the execs are going to be unaware of the problem, or that they've got staff working on it.

There was a big thread about this when it was first happening and people who claimed to "not see a stutter", would put it on youtube and the stuttering was very very obvious, most of the time its simply playstyle, if you only look at your area, dont pan the camera, rarely use the fastest speed, and pause every time you do anything, you might not see it, or at least it might not be noticed that much, but if you turn on console, type 3dstats and watch the graph youll see spikes, regardless. So it is in fact the game, not the computer, and it does in fact effect everyone.
