Was asking clearly for the demo modification, no troll posts please, I intend to buy the game when I next get payed, which is wednesday.

I'm sort of annoyed by people who are against demo abuse, even for people who have bought the game such as myself.

It's still not the full game people and Paradox hasn't expressed much in the way of disapproval. I certainly wouldn't admire anyone who would modify the demo and never purchase the game, but some of us are extremely excited and are using these modifcations to tide us over until release, which was supposed to be tomorrow to begin with.

I don't think anyone's really 'against' it, though it's sort of dumb. Why are you ruining your experience of the game by playing a drastically incomplete version in a way that the developers never intended? (this is mainly directed at the people setting the years way back, which is just silly)

i dont think it silly think about how easy it is to mod and that people have already done it (before the game came out)
and also malkara you dont have to use it if they want to "ruin" the gameplay then let them by all means if it doesnt affect you then why bother
anyway u still cannot save the game so no worries

I don't have any problem with people doing it, I just personally think that they're diminishing the enjoyment they'll be having when the game properly releases, by playing in the buggy, hodge-podged manner that they are. But, to each their own.

Setting the years back doesnt really work well enough to be worth it. It would if someone went through every single file and lowered ALL the dates by say, 200. Then you'd have a 220-year demo that would more or less work as intended.

That aside tho I dont know of any way to lengthen the demo Im sure someone with an hex editor has a chance tho... if theres any way aside from rolling back the clock Id love to hear it! I just finished a great Apulia game where I created the Kingdom of Sicily and united it all... only to 'End game!' abruptly as I was about to answer a call for crusade

There is no save feature either, so really unless you hack the .exe to pieces, then it aint gonna be much fun regardless. And besides, the demo was ~300mb installer, and I read a Paradox post that the size of the full version was ~500mb. So, stuff is cut from the demo. FWIW, I just pre-ordered from Gamersgate. Try it though extended, its fun, really lots of fun.

This being said, the ONLY things 'Cut' from this demo are the time limit, the ability to save and (even if everyone and their dog knows how to get around that) the limitations on who you can play as. Paradox confirmed as much.

edit: and yeah Paradox is pretty active, i'm sure atleast ONE dev or moderator has seen these threads, either they don't mind, there is something we're missing out on in the demo, or for some reason they aren't aware of it yet, either way we will all buy the game, no one wants to lose out on mod content.

Yes, Im looking for that, but only if its not just lowering the start date, because that fucks up everything. If its possible to start in 1066 and play past 1086, for Gods sake stop circling around it and just tell me how :/
