Due to the complete modability of graphics without loosing mp compatibility I change every color anyway to some more camouflaged colors.
The Republican revolution already happened in 1931. The Nationalist's uprising was to overthrow the republicans, and restore monarchy (In theory only, because they did it 30 years later).
Totally correct, just for your knowledge: in the succession law, while the king would return, the power would still be in Carrero Blanco hands. He was killed eta terrorists, so the king also got the power in the succession. Also it is Juan Carlos I, not Manuelin the 70s, once Francisco Franco knew he was dying, he made Juan Manuel (grandson of Alfonso XIII) his heir and officially restored the monarchy, which he wanted to be absolutist and authoritarian (i.e a continuation of his fascistic regime), something Juan Manuel I supported... at least until Franco was dead.
I'm aware, that's why I put "(if that somehow happened)" after. To be clearer, what I mean is Franco wins (or whoever depending on how crazy things can get) and later if somehow a "The Republic Strikes Back!" event occurs then the Republicans would be the rebels and should be purple. I don't know how possible that is within the game structure but an example would be Franco joins the Axis and the Soviets support a Republican revolt after Barbarossa. I also just wanted to somewhat slyly note my support for Republican Spain being purple if not yellow. The Republican revolution already happened in 1931. I would just like to see Republican Spain as a shade of yellow and Nationalist Spain a shade of yellow. In general, I prefer countries continue with the colors they had in Victoria 2, where applicable. A purple or blue Spain would just not look right to me.
Don't worry, paradox is usually very good about changing country colors if they share a border.
We all remember what northern Italy used to look like in EU4... Is it Ferrara? Is it Mantua? Is it Milan? No one can tell...
The UK color is pretty much set in stone. The Pink is the officially sanctioned color used by the Imperial Mapmakers to denote territory under control of the Empire*. Why should we go against the official colors. Much the same reason the US is blue and the Soviets are Red.I think the UK should be changed to a light brown or tan color. Something like the color of the desert rat uniform.

* Red was the preferred color, but if all the various Dominions, Colonies, Dependencies, etc. were red it would be too hard to read the place names so they compromised on the pink of the Tudor Rose.
When I think of the U.S., I think blue. When I think of the French, I picture a different blue. When I think of Germany I think grey. Italians green and Soviets red. And maybe it's just me, but when I think of the U.K. I think of a brown, light brown or tan color. Maybe it's because of the color of their uniforms and equipment. Or maybe I've spent too much time playing axis & allies. I just think it suits the empire better than pink does.
And when I think of The Netherlands, I think of ORANGE!
