I have now built up my army to the point of having more soldiers that the rest of the world combined, everyone around me has a massive AE opinion against me and I am relentlessly attacking all of my neighbors. Clearly the whole planet is too scared of me to form a coalition, but their opinion is limited to "threatened". It would be nice if I got the respect that I deserve and a terrified opinion was added, encouraging smaller states that have no chance of survival requesting to become my vassal or offering me tribute (war reparations) to spare them.

.. That's already what the Threatened opinion does. Gives +reasons for accept vassalisation. However, if they have high AE towards you their relations will be too low for vassalisation.
The exponential -reasons from size will outweigh this for any mid-size nation, though.

Similarly, weak nations will have +reasons to surrender more quickly in war (strength of alliance / relative strength).

I just thought that it would be nice if my neighbors could beg for mercy before I attack them and request to become a vassal or offer me some of their income, regardless off their opinion of me, before I attack them. It would save me time and save their people from mass slaughter when they have no chance of surviving a war.
