Playing minor nations

In Hoi 3 it was only really workable playing major nations like the US, USSR, Britain, Germany, Japan etc. and with other countries like Afghanistan or Persia or any south American country wasn't really fun playing them, in fact they were very boring. the only other playable nations that were not main powers would be like Czechoslovakia, Romania, Hungary, Turkey (maybe) Will it be better for playing minor nations or regional powers?

I don't understand why playing as a minor nation that doesn't have the resource base, manpower, heavy industry, or the level of technology that makes war possible would be fun in a WWII game. This isn't CK or EU or even Vic.

Brazil and Argentina are currently fun and playable. Other than those, I am struggling to think of minors that really have some potential but won't be drawn into the war in europe. Spain is okay.

If you think HOI3 minors were boring and hard to play... should play HOI2 minors, there is a massive upgrade! It's probably the main reason the entire research system was rebuilt in HOI3.

Playing as a micropower is meant to be boring. And you can always achieve a lot playing as regional power.

Well, Sweden could have ended up at war with Germany OR the Soviets.
They had a pretty large army (around 400,000 I think?) so their entry would have been very significant.
