Playing in windowed mode.

I have tried to get my game to play in windowed mode by editing the settings.txt file in C:\Users\name\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II but it has not done the job, is there anything obvious i am missing or anyone have any idea's on what i need to do?

Could you copy the text of the settings.txt file and copy/paste it between Code tags?

Change resolution as well should help. Though i assume it actually was windowed mode, but still covered all screen as the resolution wasn't changed ?

Yes i read the sticky post about Custom Resolutions, the game has never been in any mode other than fullscreen, if it was fullscreen windowed / boarderless i would be happy because it wouldn't minimize when i alt tab to my second monitor.

This section of code is what i changed it to, it didnt change the resolution or force it into windowed.

bump for help, gone through any programs that could be forcing it to fullscreen on my pc but nothing seems to be affecting it.

Hi Sarmonde,

To continue further, do you have the game installed in the 'C:\Program Files\' or 'C:\Program Files (x86)\' folders ? If you did, I'd suggest doing a full clean reinstall outside these folders.

• Important: Go to '..\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\save games\' and copy all the save games you want to keep outside the folder
• Uninstall Crusader Kings II
  For Steam users: uninstall the game from within steam by right clicking on the game and select "Delete content".
• Go to the folder where you installed Crusader Kings II in, and check if the Crusader Kings II folder is removed. If not, delete the entire folder
  For Steam users: Installation folder can be found at: '..\Steam\SteamApps\common\'
• Go to '..\Documents\Paradox Interactive\' and remove the entire Crusader Kings II folder
• Reinstall the game, make sure you install the game outside the 'C:\Program Files\' or 'C:\Program Files (x86)\' folders, as it can cause issues with permissions

The last post was over 2 days old, which was also my post replying with the info you asked for before hand, which was 2 days and 27 mins before my bump, so the thread was down on the third page.

Ah I see, my mistake, indeed it mentions the 2nd of august, not 4th. I overlooked the date, my apologies! Removed the thread bumping remark, and you can forget I mentioned it

Let me know what the results are of reinstalling, if you have any further questions, of course feel free to ask them.

Ah well i don't have to re install it would seem. NBRT+ (new boarders rivers textures) has its own settings file which the game runs off of when using that mod, so that is why it wasn't working for me, even without the mod installed the file was still there because i didn't delete that specific part apparently.

Thank you for all the help though! Glad i noticed it before i re installed to find the same problem.
