I maybe playing a multi-player LAN based game this weekend. Last time we played, which was my first time playing, I played as Italy. This time I was thinking about going a different route. I would like to play as Turkey. I think it would be interesting playing a 'wildcard' country. . . I mean will Turkey side with the Axis or the Allies? ? ? I mean the country cannot provide much in the way of military aide. However it's stragitic location could pay dividends later.

Has anyone ever played a game as Turkey? If so what advice can you give?

First, unless you have at least 6 other players, Turkey is a waste of a player position. Should you have all the major powers covered, then as Turkey, I would side with whoever could protect me. You won't be able to protect yourself from any of the alliances alone.

Yes there will be about 6 of us playing. . .They will have all the majors covered. The thing is Turkey got screwd in WWI by siding with Germany. England & France took most of her territory.

The funnest country to play in MP from that stand point is Romania. Germany needs you, but you can try and string them along, toy with them. Let's face it, there isn't much else to do as Romania in MP other than play mind games. :D

YEp agreed Industrious, I've played a game with USA, SU, GER, BRITAIN all covered and me...Turkey, since I'm the only good player, I watched as USA was saying "how the f-ck do I lower dissent!?" and a britain "why are my men losing strnght?" I was only faced with a good GER and SU, I toyed with them because I was actually a military might (was at war with teh allies) becaused I had alot of Africa. Finally war broke out and seeing how the SU player had the sheer number advatage, I joined axis, went into Stalingrad quickly but then lost everything because I neglected airpower, and no thanks to germany who was at the bulgarian borders with his forses and wiated for me to be annexed so he can claim the land.....of course I never finished the game because me and my friends are to lazy.

So the moral of the story is to beat on the allies and join the russians! ;)

If you side with the Axis, you'll have a 2 front war. One from Russia and the other from Iraq. Defend the mountains against the Russians (don't let his air power in there!) and take out Iraq as quick as possible. If you side with the Allies, then the vichy France to your south needs taken out quickly and Bulgaria! Bulgaria, 'cause it's mountains are great defensive positions. Same with if you side with Russia. You could always do it alone and go for Persia and Afghanistan. Then pounce on whichever side is losing the war and grab your piece of the pie.
