I might have an online game in a few days... And I was wondering how it is like to play as Spain?

And what about Russia?

Which one is the most fun?

Personally, I don't really like either of them. Which one that's most fun to play is entirely up to what you like to play.

Honestly, I have never seriously played as Russia. I only just kind of messed around with it. But when I played as Spain I had a BLAST! I thought it was very fun because you have SO MANY options on where to expand. Hope this helped.

Spain gives you satisfaction when becoming filthy rich. But a lot of micromanagement with colonists and traders.

Muscowy/Russia is better IMO. Land conquests all the way!

Not easily impressed.

As Spain, prepare to fight France often, be ready to defend your Habsburg brothers (Austria), have a large fleet standing ready at all time, go after the Aztec's and Inca's as soon as you have Columbus, if Portugal is played by a human support it, if not annex it.

As Russia, prepare to fight Poland Sweden and the Ottoman Empire often, the Oe might even take your link to Siberia from you so be careful. Don't bother investing in nt at all, go east ASAP, only annex Poland when the other agree. When Suvorov comes have fun...

Both can be very fun although Spain is more naval orientated and Russia more land orientated.

I think Spain is more fun.... you can expand in italy, netherlands, america, asia... you can do a naval spain, land spain, go into africa and convert those infidels. :) Plus, what's more fun than owning most of the COTs around the world?

If Aragon chooses option B in an event you will not inherit them. Otherwise you will inherit them before 1500. I'm sure that somebody else here can provide more detailed information.

I don't really like playing Castille/Spain as you more or less just sit around the first 70 years fighting some rebels and taking Granada during 2 short wars, then you inherit Aragon and bam - you're by far the most powerfull nation in the whole world only matched by France if they didn't mess up so far, but one war later France got punished and you won't be facing any real enemys for the rest of your game

Castilla becomes Spain in the 1470s.. and you get a marriage event with Aragon... making them vassals I think.. and around 1520 there is an Aragonese event that mostly makes Aragon choose to be inherited by Castilla..
