Playing as France, need help getting the most trade power as I can in english channel

I still havn't figured out the most optimal way for trading as France yet in 1.8 due to the ridiculous amount of wealth in the english channel.

So what's the most optimal way to get as much wealth as possible out of EC trade node, (Not getting trade ideas due to it being a multiplayer game and trade ideas in a multi game is a waste as France)

Should I move my trade capital to caux?

I'm also going reformed.

I would imagine that moving your trade capital into the Channel and going Reformed would help. Also consider:

- Conquering the Low Countries
- Conquering the South of England
- Spamming light-ships

Take Antwerp and move your trade port there. If you are allied with England get them to transfer trade power, as that's a 20 percent swing. If you don't have trade ideas and extra merchants, collect in both Champagne/Antwerp and Bordeaux. Trying to steer from Genoa is not very profitable, unless you can somehow get more power there than Spain/Portugal.
