Any Advice?

What scenario should I use? If I release Canada manually by playing as UK will the historical Canadian territorys be given to me by events or will I have to trade with UK to get them?

The earlier start the better, but I dont want to screw up the events by releasing them way before I should. On the other hand I will need alot of time to build up Canada.

Also, is there an easy way to remove the Emmigration bonus to the US. (for Ricky, the only tutorial I saw was for 1.03) I would like to level the playing field to be able to compete with my neighbor.

Thanks.

You'll need to trade for the land whatever the case, so I say the earlier the better. Don't grant statehood to Ontario before releasing it from the UK - if you do you'll be a satellite and not a dominion (better to be a dominion).

As for the hardcoded USA bonus, see here. The same principles apply still.

Regarding trading for the land, you could just hit F12 to open the cheat console and type "neville", and the AI will accept whatever you ask it to. Make sure you type in "neville" again to disable it. :)

My understanding with the VIP events is that you'll get the native lands without a problem. What you loose out are is the Confederation Chain and maybe the cheaper railroads.

You might just be better off allying with the United States and declaring war on Britain and becoming a Republic (event 23116) and annexing the uncivilized natives.

Thanks for the advice.

I know about the 'neville' cheat, but one thing Im wondering is will I have to modify my save to get cores on all of canada? Or is there events for that kinda thing? But wont those events only happen after 1867?

I have VIP, so your saying if I dont trade for land I will get it with events? I do like the idea of some interesting events over just trading for it. But I would rather play the 1836 scenario to get a head start.

I don't like the idea of allying the USA. Being a dominion is not bad, with a full alliance and a pretty damn good guarantee of the UK holding up their side of the deal. I cant see any downside really..
