Yes, you can be integrated if your subject type allows it. Happened to me in one unfortunate Bactria run where I played nice with the Seleucids for too long. Had to try a desperate, unplanned and underprepared Independence war that I failed and then quit the game.

I think that if you are a colony of the Antigonids (only Athens can become this subject type) you cannot be integrated.
