In EU2, if I understand correctly, it is never a good idea to become the vassal of another nation.
This has always bothered me. Nations became each others' vassals during this time period. It happened. There must have been a rationale. And if there was a rationale, then in a game like this, the same (or game-analogous) rationale should sometimes apply--it should sometimes be the best decision for a player to become a vassal.
Does anyone know if EU3 will address this issue?
It may be I'm the only one who thinks this. People may shrink at the notion of becoming a vassal. But I think if the game could be engineered such that sometimes this is the best thing to do, then this would serve to make the game more realistic, and would also serve gameplay in that a new bit of drama will have been added into the mix for the player.
Anyone? Anyone?
