I recall reading an AAR on the EU2 forum about a playable Pirate nation. Now, I wish to play a simular game. Can anyone tell me what kind of modifications I need to make in order to play as Pirates, if at all possible? I imagine I have to do some editing in the .txt files, including revolts.txt, and possibly creating some events making playing as Pirates possible, however I have no clue as to where to start...

I imagine having a capital somewhere in the westindies, but I guess this should be scripted in an event or in the revolt.txt file. Can anyone help me out?

Well. The first thing you need to do is to open "Grand Campaign" file - not the 1419 one. In selectable nations, add PIR to the tags already listed. Then you can start. However a better way would probably be to copy one of the other country's file, such as 1419_tur.inc, change the information as you want it to be, and add the line "include_1419_pir.inc" in the 1419 file.

I hope this helped a little.

WARNING: IT CTD's AS HELL.

Ok, it works! I put the PIR tag into the GC file and copied a country file and renamed it to the PIR tag, modified it with capital and national provinces and added some monarch and leader files. Good fun... Although as you said, there are MASSIVE ctd's

Thanks for you help, though! It is greatly apreciated.
