I think Denmark would be a though one to play - two wars with "Germany" that could end up with the total defeat of Denmark. As the game progresses it's going to be a challange to stay independent!

If by reflected in game you mean independent countries, than I disagree. Granting autonomy would cripple the British Empire in the game in a way that it wouldn't in reality. Besides, if you do that, it opens the door to all sorts of crazy things. If even the most limited amount of autonomy calls for an independent state, then would Hungary become an independent vassal of Austria when the whole thing becomes Austria-Hungary?
I wonder if you'll need a claim or some sort to annex territory. Otherwise, I wonder if Denmark won't usually just end up as part of Prussia.
The easiest solution: Everything that has a national army and can declare wars is playable, everything else not.
A good suggestion. Simplicity is the key and not letting nationalistic prides get in the way of the game. I'm sure someones going to find an exception to your proposed rule though Stein. Someone always does.

Australia was free to rule itself from 1901(Conscience votes for the "Mother" country not included), so there you go.

Just kidding, but Australian Independance at 1901, perhaps alternative measures should be taken for any large nations that suffer a huge amount of defeats, economic crisis, etc that certain parts of their empires can revolt or break free due to a lack or confidence in the rulers?

I could also see a 'colonial' war between the various colonies in Australia, New South Wales annexing Queensland perhaps? or Victoria throwing its lot in with QL in a double front against the Hegemony of NSW?

Austria-Hungary is a special case, quite exceptional. I wonder how it will be done. I also wonder, if the possibility to make it a triple monarchy, including Croatia, will be there...
It will be good thing to have possibility to make some vasals like Croatia or Bohemia or in UK Scotland or Ireland, and then if you want to play with that countries to have possibility to play with them.
Good point. I hope that it will be possible to - unlike in HoI - release vassal states in Victoria.
Well, I would love to play Prussia, unite Germany in a maybe more peacefull way, accept the Crown from the national convent in Frankfurt to get a liberal constituted monarchy (if that event is included) which I´d like to turn into a democracy later on. No I.WW then I´d guess. Peace for this time. Or could that be ... äh... boring ?
I wonder how carving up the Austrian-Hungarians when defeated in war will be handeled. As Germany I would like to team up with Italy and Serbia and split it apart. I would take Austria and the lands that would have become Chechoslovakia. GIve Italy it's ethnic territories. Set up an independent Hungarian state, and give the rest (the land that would become Yugoslavia) to Serbia.
