Playable countries

I haven't found any of the playable countries..

I was curious if anyone knows for sure when the game starts, ends and who is or isnt in it.

I love playing the Byzantine empire.. I wanna know if that country will be playable..

The game starts in 1444, and yes Byzantium will be playable but it will be very difficult to survive.

If it existed or can be formed or can revolt in the time period of this game it can be played by the player, no exceptions. Byzantine Empire included.

The start date is 11/11/1444. The game ends in the 18th century.
