Play Doomsday @ 1280x1024

To run Doomsday in 1280x1024 resolution, go to Pegasus Hexa Wizard. Download program itself to make the changes automatically or change bytes (of hoi2.exe) at addresses as described below (you need some hexeditor to do this):

Additionally, you need loading screen for this resolution. There is one for download on the Pegasus Hexa Wizard page. You must put it to the '/gfx' subfolder of your Doomsday installation directory.

ATTENTION: Always backup your exe before you alter it! And DO NOT apply for Paradox support when you have problems with game running on modded exe!

Thanks for the hint, Lord Elderon, but when I launch Pegasus I get an error message saying that he can't find MFC71.dll.

Is there anything else I need to install ?

I think checksum was the same, not absolutely sure though.

The higher resolution is used only in-game, when you load save or start campaign/battlescenario. It doesn't apply to menu.

EDIT: When I reread your post, I finally understood your question Interface: topbar and left info-bar remains the same as under 1024x768, just main map area is bigger (a lot bigger ).

most likely you used the included 1280er version instead of the "manual way"..

this will set HoI2 to use a custom sized loadscreen (load_1280.bmp) instead of the standard size.
make sure you resize/create that loadscreen in the "GFX" subdir..

or maybe you need to rename the DD executable to HoI2.exe ...

I just downloaded this, and ran HOI2 in 1280 res., but a problem i have is that when I hover the mouse to anything that has a tooltip, the "remains" stay there if the tooltip was opened near the bottom left part of the page (there is a black blank space there). After a while that black part gets filled with parts of tooltips and it is really annoying. Any solution to that?

did you see the readme?
you have to resize your (nation specific) skin as well..
you can find them in these subdirs: "GFX\SKINS\%nation%"

fullscreen = 1280x956
sidebar = 256x956
topbar = 1280x68

or download/use an existing 1280 skin...

f.ex. i made and provided one for germany a while back in the 3. post of this thrad
i also made custom versions for use with DMP or GIP..
anyway - this one uses symbols that could be offending to some..
but you can find a lot other 1280er skins or just resize yourself.

My LCD is 21 inches, so my native is 1600 x 1200. Any advice on the hex needed for that resolution? Thanks very much.

These cell values will use a load_1600.bmp
398706 : 36 = 6
398707 : 30 = 0
398708 : 30 = 0
Don't know about the other two cells, but it's probably the hard-coded res... If you'll try it, make a file-backup, resize & rename .bmp... at your own risk!
