It wouldn't really change anything. The game has had a ridiculous amount of money and not enough to spend it on for as long as I've been playing (started in 1.5).

There is more money than the previous version of the game. Though it doesn't hurt the gameplay in any way. The AI gets just as much money as you. And you have to get pretty big/massive trader before there's absolutely no money crunch. IE when you are running with 3 +3 advisers and still making loads.

It's been this way, more or less, since 1.0

The problem comes from being able to afford a level 2 or level 3 advisor at the start of the game while having full maintenance.

Feeling a bit like an Imperial governor of Arrakis in my Portugal game. The money from exploiting stuff is pretty big.

Too much money? In an England game I had over 5,000 ducats by 1464. This was with army and navy at full forcelimits and building market, dock and armoury in every single province.

In current Ottoman game treasury is approaching 20k (less than a century after starting), with 72k army and 65k navy, +2 and +3 advisers, building everything in every province - the only thing stopping me from building everything is I don't have enough monarch points.

The money situation is pretty insane, to be honest.

Poland doesn't really benefit from any trade balance changes. If anything, it's the opposite. Their TNs have strong outflow due to inland steering, so most of the extra money flowing around goes to their rivals. If you end up changing your trade capital to e.g. Lübeck it may be a different matter, but probably still less than what England or Iberia see.

I actually like the vast amounts of money like it is now. Even if it is a bit too much.

I have NEVER been in a position where I didn't have reasonable things to do with my money.

I am guessing I build more buildings than most. And I tend to go for non-economic ideas exactly because I recognize money is not the most scarce resource. But I've never been in a position where I couldn't spend my money on more troops, buildings, or ships in a reasonably useful fashion.

In other words, I really think having 20k treasury is a sign that you're just playing wrong. You're probably spending valuable diplo/admin points on ideas that give you more money than you need. Or you're not exceeding your forcelimit enough. I don't mean to criticize, but resource management is, in the end, about ensuring you never stockpile more than you need to. Is why I always lose my Starcraft games with 7000 minerals left. No pause button in Starcraft. ;)

P.S. I should point out that I started playing after 1.5, so I probably never got used to playing income-boosting strategies.
