The bonus this tradition gives seems ridiculously overpowered.

Since getting the perk, my 4 science ships have created a backlog of >40k stored research in each field.
At current research rates, that backlog will be giving me double research rate for the next ~100 years.

I've still got 1/3rd of the galaxy to explore too!

The perk for completing the research tradition (+10% research rate) seems irrelevant by comparison.
Actually..... I suppose it isn't all that bad, as that +10% allows you to drain a little faster, the enormous science backlog created by Planetary Survey Corps!

Yea, this tradition can be either very OP, or completly useless.
Usueless on tiny galaxy, but on the Huge galaxy's? Boy o Boy that thing is OP. I'm currently generating 330 society research, that's 110 Society research each time i survey a planet, i stil have half of the galaxy to survey.

...Sounds like it should be adjusted by size of galaxy... Heh. Smaller bonus on larger galaxy, bigger bonus on smaller galaxy.

I've seen this tradition but I didn't understand exactly what it does.
The third of your monthly gain when surveying planets, the gain of what? Scientist experience?
Also does it work with all celestial body or only habitable planets?
If anyone could explain, you have my thanks! :)

Basically if your research is currently +100/100/100, you'll get a resource of each flavour of science boost of 33.

From what I can tell, the research earned is awarded at the end of the month, after you finish surveying a system. System does not need to have a habitable planet, and had to be completely surveyed before you get the bonus.

I have two scientists in my current game, and held off on most of my surveying until I unlocked that Tradition. Getting ready for that research to roll in.

No trading star charts, that is for sure!

Terrain mastery perk is also crazy powerful for early game, you instantly gain 10 tile techs and clear all tiles for free. Other perks seem rather pale compared to this two.
