I was thinking... The atmosphere (pressure and composition), day lenght, orbital period, surface temperature, gravity, radius and mass are features of the planets in the game? Because... I would like to create, for example, a specie of a hight gravity world, like the Elcor of Dekuuna in Mass Effect... Or a specie that can breathe ammoiac insteat of oxigen, like the Volus of Irune in Mass Effect too. Or are we limited by earth-like species?

Nope.

Planet type, biome type for each tile, fixed position in space. Probably some special traits now and then. Nothing as detailed as you described.

Paradox did say that you may require an entirely different species or genetically alter a pop of your own to colonize a planet that is inhospitable otherwise. Who knows, that could mean mollusces don't like deserts, or it could mean humans can't breathe ammonia.

Oh, THAT is interesting. We can only dream for now and wait to see more. :p
