The plane comparison feature is great and helps with designing but it doesn't include the mission adjusters (like ground or naval attack) in comparison making it less useful. In fact, the UI places the comparison plane stats right on top of the original adjusters which you can see by mousing over where the adjusters were and seeing the stats change on the top screen:
