Of late, my games have been plagued by a serious strike of bad luck. The majority of the planets that I find are of lousy quality, often with one resource close to or even at one. That is, only one district of energy, mines or food.

This is not related (I think at least) to the terraforming bug - but the two together have practically made the game unplayable - with many planets nearly useless, and the few good ones being ruined by terraforming, I find it utterly frustrating to play.

Has anyone else had this experience?

Yes.

I've come to the conclusion that you cannot run cookie-cutter builds in the current version of the game. You never know what you will find among the stars, so you have to play it fast and loose on your worlds as you develop, and carefully consider what real estate to claim and when.

I've had a step worse luck in my last couple of games. No planets at all, not even tiny 20% hab, within 10 jumps of my homeworld. The guarantee of 2 nearby colonies in the startup settings definitely isn't working (haven't seen 2 good hab worlds near my homeworld in any of my 4 starts in 2.2.x), but I usually at least have some poor hab choices.

I am tired of getting planets with 15 mineral districts and poor quality minerals >.>

Also, the 2 guaranteed nearby colonies aren't guaranteed to even be within 4 hops of your space. It seems to be a certain straight line distance, without regards to how the universe is connected. It could be 15 hops away, but within what would normally be 4 hops if the hyperlanes connected there.
